DYC strives to provide the opportunity to develop musicianship, ensemble-singing skills, and a healthy vocal technique for every young singer. The future of Dublin Youth Choir is bright as it continues to grow and develop. They perform a wide variety of repertoire, from medieval and renaissance music to compositions by living composers. They were named Champions of the European Choir Games in the Youth Choir category and were awarded two gold medals, including one for the international Grand Prix, and a gold diploma for their performances.

After getting-to-know-you games, the choir introduced themselves and soon enough friendships formed. By the end of the session, the group of strangers turned into a family, as many reflected on the final night of the session. The All Star Evening also showed off different cultures from around the world, as choir members shared traditional dances, food, and drink from their countries. After rehearsals, the choir was ready to set off and share the music they had prepared with the world. There were certainly some nerves, but after the concert, there was an atmosphere of elation that spread through both the choir and their audience. Then, it was off to Portugal. They additionally performed in an outdoor concert in Cascais. The current session gathered with patrons, World Youth Choir board members, and alumni from previous sessions. This experience truly showed how long lasting a connecting this project builds, as all attendees gathered to sing a traditional Irish Blessing together as one choir. While the choir lamented leaving Portugal and eating as many Pastel de Nata as they could, France called again.
The Irish Youth Choir is the only dedicated national youth choir that offers training opportunities for young singers from all over Ireland. The Irish Youth Choir meets annually for a main intensive rehearsal course in the summer under the expert tuition of the Artistic Director, Greg Beardsell, and a team of tutors and vocal coaches. The establishment of the Irish Youth Training Choir was a long held ambition of the Association of Irish Choirs and was seen as a significant gap in the national provision of choral education for the 14 — year-old age group.
Of course, your parents will care most. We are indeed in two different places. Cuddling is not demanding.
